For those wondering how an indoor hen party photo shoot works, Lyon-based photo studio Zebureau reveals how an EVJF shoot unfolds in its studio.
Preparing the hen party photo shoot
As the 1st essential step, we suggest that organizers drop by the studio before the shoot to choose studio backgrounds or discuss a possible set design.
On this occasion, or a little before the shoot, it’s possible to leave some props or food to prepare the surprise.
To be honest, at the Zebureau photo studio, we’re not big fans of pictorial backgrounds, which we find a little cheesy. To each his own!
We prefer painted or solid-colored backgrounds to better highlight the participants.
That doesn’t mean we can’t accessorize the shots or even use fireworks, confetti, smoke machines, soap bubbles, etc., if need be.
Photo shoot sequence
The only rule of thumb for a successful hen party: relax the bride-to-be and don’t try to steal her ring!
Portraits of the bride with her witnesses
We always start with portraits of all the participants. This allows all the girls to feel at ease very quickly, even those who are more reserved.
3 to 5 series of group portraits are taken, with different placements. During the session, you can plan a change of background, as in the session presented here.
The official hen party portrait
It doesn’t take long for the good atmosphere created by the young women to result in beautiful group portraits and lots of smiles.
Portraits in the wild
We give participants total freedom to show off their best features!
We always encourage group dynamics.
This is where the photographer becomes the conductor, organizing the simultaneous jump of the 8 participants.
All new sneaker portrait concepts are welcome, like this karateka-style foot throw.
Mais nous n’encourageons pas les activités plus dangereuses… comme ce lancé de casquette.
Bachelorette studio portraits
After the full group portraits, we move on to (slightly) more serious matters with a series of souvenir portraits in small groups.

What are the advantages of a hen party studio shoot compared to an outdoor shoot?
A hen party can be a real ordeal for some women, and having to dress up and wander around town, sometimes making a fool of yourself in front of strangers, is no picnic.
- In the studio, surrounded by her best friends, the bride-to-be is more relaxed and can enjoy the moment to the full.
- The space can be made available to extend the moment in complete intimacy and even plan a cocktail reception following the photo shoot.
- Photo portraits are more homogenous and studio quality thanks to the lighting available.
- A specific set design is planned in advance of the show.
- The weather is guaranteed, and we promise that it won’t rain inside, unless you make a special request 😉
